Formerly the Book Club.
After much discussion and thoughtful counsel from Rev. Annie, we have decided to change the name of our group from “Book Club” to Deep Conversations Wednesdays. The old name was misleading as it was never a traditional book discussion group. We choose books, but use the books as a springboard into deep conversations about life, theology, world events, and whatever else seems important. We adjust the reading schedule to fit the conversation. We are often “rambunctious!” The teachings of Jesus are always our foundation for theology.
Going forward, we pledge to make introductions when new folks attend, build in pauses to give quieter people room to speak, and ask for new perspectives. If this sort of gathering appeals to you, you are warmly invited to join us.
We’re on a break ‘till Weds. Oct. 14th when we’ll start up again using Better Ways to Read the Bible by Zach Lambert. Please join us! We meet Wednesdays, 10:30-11:30am in the downstairs conference room.
